CLASS LIST & DESCRIPTION:
Tuesday 6/13: Make a Flower Press
This class will feature fresh cut flowers, as well learning types to forage from our yards at home. We will be constructing a flower press and begin to press flowers for future use.
Tuesday 6/20: Moss Frame
Explore the curious world of moss with us during week two. This class is designed to learn more about plants while channeling the artist side with unique designs, created with preserved moss. In this class we will learn about different types of moss, and where they can be found, while we create an 8”x12” preserved Moss Frame. Students are asked to bring in their flower presses from Week 1 so that we may incorporate the pressed flowers in the design, along with preserved reindeer moss, in a variety of colors, mushrooms, and other items found in nature.
Tuesday 6/27: Creating a Kokedama
Learn the curious art of the Japanese Kokedama. We will be creating hanging moss ball mixtures, planting houseplants in them to suspend and grow at home. This class will explore different types of air purifying houseplants that require minimal care, and can easily be added to any space, as well as the history of the Kokedama & uses.
